Mrs. Willie Mae Morrison, age 61 of High Point, NC peacefully departed this earthly life on Saturday morning, February 28, 2015 at her residence. While we loved her, God loved her more and called her into eternal rest. She was welcomed into this world on January 31, 1954 in Marlboro County, SC.
A resident of High Point most of her life she received her diploma from Guilford Technical Community College and was employed with Drexel Heritage for over 20 years. She was married to the true love of her life, Graylyn Morrison, together they raised four children. Willie Mae was a devout Christian and served as a Deaconess, Usher and assisting with the Women Ministry department until her health failed. She will forever be remembered for her contagious laughter and a great sense of humor. She had a remarkable love for her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed the great outdoors, gardening. She will also be remembered for her fashion, music and as a dedicated Tarheels basketball fan.
Willie Mae was a wonderful and cherished wife, mother, sister, and grandmother. She will be missed greatly missed by her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Alford Charles Bethea.
Willie Mae leaves behind her beloved husband of 30 years, who remained dedicated through it all, Graylyn Morrison of the home; four children, Debra Ann (Willie) McDuffie of High Point, Leah Ann (Tyrone) Owens of Kernersville, NC, Cassie Morrison and Robert Owens both of the home; parents, James and Rose Little of High Point, and Alexander and Cora Bethea of High Point; mother-in-law, Ms. Lena Morrison of High Point; grandchildren, Eboni, William, Destiny, Jimon, Caden and DeJon; two great grandchildren; god-daughter, Jessica; her brothers, Elzane Bethea, Ray McInnis, Ronnie Bethea and Terry Bethea all of High Point; sisters, O’Linda Bethea, Elaine Bethea, Evelyn Bethea, Lorraine (Lee) McCall, Barbara Ann Dunlap and Wendy Cross Jackson all of High Point; sister in law, Queenie Morrison of Lilesville, NC; a host of other family members, although not named you where special to her heart.
