Willie Lee Bethea, 79, of High Point, NC passed away quietly in his sleep on the morning of November 17, 2022, at Pelican Health in Thomasville, NC.
Willie was born June 20, 1943, in Bennettsville SC, to the late John and Lottie Peguese Bethea.
Willie attended High Point City Public Schools. Willie, who was lovingly referred to as "Obadiah", lived the majority of his life in High Point, NC. He worked at Amos Hosiery Mill in the dye house for multiple years. He was employed at the Radisson Hotel for over seven years as well. Willie was loved by many coworkers throughout his years of employment.
He was known and loved by many. If he knew you and your birthday or anniversary, he would always call to express his sentiments.
Willie was preceded in death by his parents and three siblings: Annie Bethea Collins, John "June" Bethea, Gloria Bethea Manns and special great nephew, Colby Jamar Bethea, whom he loved dearly.
He is survived by three brothers: Thomas (Vivian) Bethea, of Brooklyn, NY, Johnny Frank Bethea of Irvington, NJ and Jimmy (Mae) Bethea of Milwaukee, Wi; three sisters: Geraldine Miller of Brooklyn, NY, Mary Willis of Newark, NJ and Ella Bethea of High Point, NC. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
