Our beloved, Willie Dean McFadden departed this life on March 6, 2019 after a lengthy battle with cancer. She was born on July 31, 1948 to the late William and Jessie McFadden in Lone Star, SC. She attended the Public Schools of Calhoun County.
In 1966 she moved to Brooklyn, NY where she did “days’ work” as a child care provider. She also worked in the garment district as a seamstress. She later relocated to Washington, DC in 1975 and returned to Brooklyn, NY. Dean was a loving and caring woman who lived her life doing whatever made her happy. She was affectionately called the “Whistle” because she went where ever the wind would blow. Dean and Michael moved to High Point, NC in 2008 and have called it home ever since.
In addition to her parents, Dean was also preceded in death by one daughter Schnique McFadden; four sisters, Bertha Moore, Helen Jamison, Delores McFadden and Rutha Mae Davis.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories: her lifetime partner (husband) Michael Dunn, of the home; three daughters, Nicole Cambridge of Atlanta, GA, Tomeke McFadden of Queens, NY Tanika McFadden of New, NY; one son, Jaleel McFadden of Washington, DC; five step children, Michael Dunn Jr. of Orlando, FL, Alonzo Peterkin of Bronx, NY, Mark A.
