Willie Gregory Dye Sr., “Too Sweet,” was born in High Point, NC on January 3, 1962. He attended High Point City Schools and graduated from High Point Central, class of 1980.
Greg as he was known by family and friends was a kind, sweet loving man who loved his children. He enjoyed his life. Greg’s favorite past times were riding his scooter, watching the ducks, and visiting family and friends. One of our fondest memories was Greg playing Santa Claus to his grandchildren. In the words of his son, he was outspoken and he said what he meant and meant what he said. Greg loved his family and yes, Greg loved the Dallas Cowboys!
Greg is preceded in death by his father, Willie James Dye and his sister Dycie Kay Dye.
He is survived by his life-long partner, Carla Lloyd; his mother, Fredricker Dye; son, Willie Gregory Dye Jr.; daughter, Simone Renee Smith; two grandchildren, Sarah and Joseph Marion’; sister, Teresa Dye; brothers, Steve (Darlene) Dye, Mike Dye, Adam Dye and Tony Houston; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles; neighbors, Gilbert Williams, Franklin Southerland; his caregiver, Tonya Montgomery, Franklin Montgomery; two play daughters, Angela Isaac and Shinita Lewis.
