William Broadie

September 22, 1950 — June 7, 2013

Mr. William Lewis Broadie, 62, “Bunky,” as he was known by family and close friends, entered into eternal rest in the early morning hours of June 7, 2013, at High Point Regional UNC Hospital after an extended illness. William was born to Wilson and Effie Lee Broadie on Sept. 22, 1950, and attended Church Street School located in Thomasville, N.C. After relocating to High Point, N.C., he was employed with B&C Associates until his health declined. He joined Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, where he attended as often as his health allowed. He loved to study martial arts, listen to music and attend family gatherings. He will be missed by all whose path he has crossed.
His parents, a brother, Charles L. Broadie, preceded him in death. Left to cherish his memories: a daughter, Thelma Kearse of High Point; four brothers, James  (Patricia) Broadie, Lee Thomas (Wilma) Broadie, Mitchell Broadie all of High Point, N.C., Jerry Lee (Sarah) Broadie of Thomasville, N.C.; two sisters, Johnsie M. (Michael Sr.) Coleman of High Point, N.C., and Daisy Lee Blakney of Cincinnati, Ohio; four grandchildren, Keyona, Desmonae, Denasia and Derick all of High Point, N.C.; three aunts; four uncles; one special aunt, Thelma Woodruff of Black Mountain N.C.; special nephews, Robert Broadie and Mark Broadie; special sister-in-law and caregiver, Patricia Broadie and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The family of William Broadie wishes to thank the staff of High Point Regional UNC Hospital, Pastor F.O. Bass Jr. and Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 15, 2013, at 11:30 a.m.  Visitation will begin at 11a.m. at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, 716 Leonard Ave.
