Verdie Watkins

Verdie Keith Watkins, 57, departed this earthly life on Sunday, September 20, 2020 in High Point, NC. He was born to Manzell Ingram and Dorothy Watkins on April 30, 1963 in Guilford County. NC. Verdie was known for his kind heart and he never met a stranger, he would always say something to make you laugh.

"Pic," as he was known my many that knew and loved him resided in High Point, NC all of his life, he was a graduate of High Point Central High School, class of 1982. "Pic" had a love for football and wrestling, and loved being called a "Black Bison." He grew up on the Southside Community as he would always admire his community and friends. He was a faithful employee with the City of High Point for many years, previously "Pic" was employed at Pacific Coast. In his free time he loved spending it with family and friends, He loved to cook, he loved to clean and could repair almost anything

Verdie was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; Rodney T. Watkins; Uncles; Perry Whitsett, Purcell Ingram, Linwood Ingram and Richard Ingram; Aunts; Marie Watkins, Mary Jeanette Watkins and Delois (Debe) Ingram.

Loving memories will be cherished by his sisters; Wanda Watkins Vance and Terrell (Richard) Watkins; cousins that were reared with him; Warren Watkins, D. Tobin (Wendy) Watkins and Byron Watkins; Nieces; Retonya Townsend, Niesha Watkins, Kenya Townsend and Breanna Leach; Aunts; Ernestine W. Gaines, Willie Mae Whitsett and Pamela Barr; Uncles; Charles Ingram, Kenneth Ingram and Terrence (Terry) Ingram; Special cousins; Tyrone Belton, Lynn Belton-Taylor, Troy Belton, Robin Whitsett-Hayes, Felicia Belton-Cohen and Devona Whitsett-Jackson, Kay Eaves, Gloria Lovett and family, special friend; Pauline Smith and family, Deron Dorsett, Gary Parker and Larry Davis, a host of cousins and other relatives and friends.
