Shadie Mae Mobley, 91, of High Point, NC peacefully entered eternal life on September 14, 2021 at Accordius Health in Greensboro, NC. Born in Bennettsville, S.C. on March 15, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence Brown and Agnes Wilson.
After retirement, Ms. Shadie Mae traveled and enjoyed going on cruises with her church family and friends. She was a devoted member of Brookhaven Baptist Church under the direction of Pastor Ellis H. McLendon and First Lady Cassandra McLendon, whom she loved dearly. She blessed the congregation each Sunday with her rousing and heartfelt singing in the choir.
Ms. Shadie Mae was known for many delicious dishes. She loved cooking for friends and family and spending time with them.
She was preceded in death by her husband M.C. Mobley and her beloved son-in-law Norman N. Jones III.
She is survived by her five children, Fred Mobley of High Point, N.C.; Shirley Ann Jones of Greensboro, NC, Lawrence Edward Mobley Sr. of High Point, NC, Edna Mae Mobley (Chris) of High Point, NC, and, Bruce Mobley Sr. of High Point, NC; ten grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; a host of many special nieces, nephews and a host of other family members, church family and friends.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 24, 2021, at Guil-Rand Memorial Park Cemetery, 5910 Apple Tree Rd., High Point, N.C. Public viewings will be held Wednesday, September 22, 2021, and Thursday, September 23, 2021, from 11:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. at People’s Funeral and Cremation Service, 1404 W. English Rd., | High Point, NC The family requests that masks be worn at all times during the service and viewings.
