Mrs. Seraphena Holtzclaw entered eternal rest Saturday, July 29th at her home surrounded by her sister, Jacklyn Jenkins. Born in Brooklyn, Coney Island Hospital, on April 12, 1960. She was the oldest daughter of the late Henry Jenkins and Thelma Bowman Jenkins.
To know mommy was to love her. She was a kind, sweet, caring person. Mommy enjoyed being around people and never met a stranger. Her smile was always infectious and inviting. On any given day, you would catch her in the house dancing and singing. She also enjoyed spending time with her friends and family, especially her granddaughter, Shakyra Jackson. Everyone looked forward to getting her I Love You text every Sunday, birthday, and holiday. During her time on earth mommy made sure that everyone she met felt unconditional love.
She was preceded in death by her husband; Tyrone Holtzclaw, her niece; Cheniqua ‘Chyna’ Alsbrooks, and father figure; Fred Hester.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories: her daughter, Shalonda Perry; her mother, Thelma Jenkins; 2 sisters, Lisa Jenkins-Coleman and Jacklyn Jenkins; one brother, Henry Jenkins; a granddaughter, Shakyra Jackson; two uncles Henry (Lilie Mae) Bowman, Robert (Jean) Bowman; one aunt, Bernette Bowman; six nieces, two nephews, thirteen great nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
