On Sunday, January 21st, 2024, Sarah fell asleep in death.

Ms. Sarah Ellen Tucker Gaines was born April 21st,1950 in Marlboro County, SC to Mr. Ozzie Joe Hope Sr. and Mrs. Margaret Brown Hope.

Sarah’s religious faith was with The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Sarah enjoyed doing her service hours and her studies. Sarah also enjoyed working in her yard, shopping and spending time with family and friends. In her younger years she loved to cook and was one of the best cooks in our family.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Jack Gaines, her parents; three brothers, Robert Hope, Michael Hope, and Bobby Hope; three sisters, Annie Malachi, Ola Hope, and Gail Hope.

Sarah leaves to cherish her memories: one son, Mr. Godfrey Tucker of High Point, NC; four brothers, Mr. Ozzie Joe Hope Jr. of High Point, NC, Mr. Johnny (Helen) Hope of Virginia Beach, VA, Mr. Charles (Tonya) Hope of Columbia, SC, and Mr. Terry (Tiawanna) Hope of Durham, NC; four sisters, Ms. Ester Wadley of Duluth, GA,  Ms. Abbie Hope, Mrs. Mildred (Latrell) Hope-Gunter all of High Point, NC, and Mrs. Mickey ( John Jr.) Smith of Laurinburg, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.


The Family will be receiving friends at 2054 Cold Creek Court, Colfax, NC 27235
