Rosalie Archie, age 83 of Thomasville passed away peacefully on Friday, November 13, 2015 at Hospice Home of High Point with family members by her side. Rosalie was born February 6, 1932 in Chesterfield, SC to Daniel and Johnnie Mae Jordan. She moved to High Point in 1950. She retired from Concepts Plastics and her favorite job was a cook at Oak Hollow Enrichment Center. She dedicated her life to Jehovah and was baptized on July 10, 1970 in Charlotte, NC. She was active in several of the local congregations of Jehovah’s Witnesses in High Point, but for the last 3 ½ years she was faithful at the English-Thomasville Congregation in Thomasville. Rose was a modern day “Lydia.” Her favorite color was purple. She was well known for her hospitality and cooking. Like Lydia, “she just made you come.” (Acts16:15). She was also known for her love of children and dancing. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sons, Terry, Johnny and Kenneth Archie; two sisters and six brothers. Surviving family members includes, Gloria Manning of High Point, Gale (Walter) Virgil of Raeford, NC, Christopher (Tona “Lumbee”) Archie, Robin (John) McIntyre all of High Point and Phyllis (Timothy) Brinson; siblings, Willie Mae (Dave) Canty of Rock Hill, SC and Margaret Dingle; eleven grandchildren, several great and great great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
