Ronald E. Harper also known to many as Ronnie, departed this earthly life on Monday, December 13, 2004, at his residence. He was born June 25, 1946, in High Point, NC, the son of William and Bertha Harper. During his lifetime he lived in Baltimore, MD and Brooklyn, NY, where he was a member of Allen Memorial A.M.E. Church in Brooklyn, NY. In the latter part of his life, he returned to High Point, NC and became employed with Kindle Furniture Company. He received his education from William Penn High School. Mr. Harper was a 32nd degree Mason Scottish Rite Century Jd member of the High Point Masonic Naaman Lodge #5 and a Shriners member as well. He enjoyed traveling, golf and taking photographs. Mr. Harper lived 58 years, 5 months and 12 days.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, William G. Harper and Mary Gill Harper, maternal grandparents, Postel Capel and Pauline Poe, his father, William G. Harper Jr., aunts, Luella Coleman, Odesa Summers, Hattie Chapman and Katie Friday, nephew, Phillip Berry and sister-in-law, Vivian Harper.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Betty Harper of the home, one son, Rodney Harper of the home, two daughters, Toni Hampton of Raleigh, NC and Kimberly Harper of High Point, NC granddaughter, Ashely Ray Harper of Baltimore, MD, mother, Bertha Harper of Jamestown, four brothers, Melvin Harper of High Point, Reverend Kenneth (Teresa) Harper of Jamestown, NC Charles Harper of Jacksonville, FL and Minister Anthony (Latrinda) Harper of Lawrenceville, GA, four sisters, Selena Chadmon of Brooklyn, NY, Brenda (Donald) Hicks of Las Vegas, NV, Phyllis Ledwell of Winston-Salem, NC and U.S. Navy Chaplin, Diane Harper of Bethesda, MD, one uncle, James Harper of High Point, NC, three aunts, Pauline Curry of High Point, NC, Elizabeth Harper of High Point, NC and Alberta Johnson of Columbus, OH, one brother-in-law, Roy (Leatrice) Hampton of Brooklyn, NY, three sisters-in-law, Alice Sinkler of Whiteville, Mollie Lesane of Richmond, VA and Deloris (Ted) Oates of Tulsa, OK, and Alberta Johnson, a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and other relatives and friends.
