Softly and gently on Sunday, January 16, 2022, Deaconess Peggie Ann Crump Short, answered God’s call and crossed that finish line to receive her crown of glory.
Deaconess Short was born August 16, 1945, to Charlie and Hannah Crump in High Point, NC. She was the oldest of six children born to this union.
She was educated in High Point Public Schools and graduated from William Penn High School, Class of 1963. She was a licensed beautician, having received her training and certification from Guilford Technical Community College.
Deaconess Short was united in marriage to William Short on July 17, 1966. They joined and became active members of Calvary Baptist under the leadership of Reverend John Trotman in the early 1970s. Deaconess Short was a member of the Deaconess Ministry, Usher Board, Calvary Fellowship Choir, Senior Choir; and she was very faithful in her attendance and participation in Sunday School and Bible Study.
Deaconess Short was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Raymond Crump; Willie Crump; her son Atlas Cagle Short and her beloved husband William.
She is survived by her sister and caregiver Netter (Cager Little) Crump; brothers, Charlie Crump and John Crump; along with her grandchildren, nieces, nephew, in-laws, cousins, other relatives and friends.
