Nickey Brown

Nickey Johnson Brown departed this earthly life on Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at Moses H. Cone Hospital in Greensboro, NC.  She was born on March 30, 1943 to the late Caleb McCollough and Idell Johnson in Marlboro County, SC.

She relocated to High Point, NC with her husband, the late Andrew Brown Sr.

Nickey was a great wife, mother and mother-in-law who had unconditional love for her family.  She was a dedicated grandmother and great grandmother.  Nickey served other with a spirit of gratitude, as she would care for the sick and would open her home up to her family.  Her home was the meeting place for all her children, grandchildren and the family unit from South Carolina.  She prepared meals for the family and she would always make you feel welcome.  She was a quiet person however; her actions of love spoke volume.  Although she is gone, she we will always remember her.

In addition to her husband and parents Nickey was preceded in death by four sons, Jerry, Willie, Charles and Ronnie Brown; one grandson, Rodrick Brown.

She leaves to cherish her precious and loving memories to her children, Andrew Jr. (Hythia) Brown, James Brown, Terry (Shawnta) Brown, Jasmine (R.J.) James and Angela (Steve) James; daughter-in-law, Tracy Brown; fourteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren; brothers Jackie (Earnestine) McCollough and Charles (Evelyn) McCollough and one sister, Marion Carmichael; god-daughter, April (Gray) Turner; her soul sister, Carrie Anne Taylor; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.
