Satrina Renee Kirby Russell departed this life on January 17, 2023 from Hospice of the Piedmont to be with her Lord and Savior. She was born on November 28, 1958 in High Point, NC and was proceeded in death by her mother Lillie Mae Kirby and her maternal grandmother who raised her Fannie Dunlap Hooker. She was married to the late Willie D. Russell.
Satrina who was fondly called by her middle name Renee graduated from High Point Central High School, Class of 1977. She received a Certified Nursing Assistants License from Guilford Technical Community College; from there she pursued her life’s calling, caring for others. She was formerly employed by Skeet Club Manor before transitioning to Shannon Gray Rehabilitation Center where she dedicated many years of service, until declining health compelled her departure.
Renee loved the Lord with all her heart and her family and friends were very important to her. She really loved and cared for people. “I love you, always remember that” was the sentence that often began or ended her conversations.
She was a member of the Stanton Place Church of God of Prophecy in High Point, NC where she served as a Missionary Circle Leader, Usher, Hospitality Committee Member, Widows’ Club Member, Ladies Sunday School Scholar and an Adult Choir Member.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, LaShonda Kirby and Kedrick (Datevia) Russell of High Point, NC; ten grandchildren, Jakobi, DeAndre, Keshaun, Kierra, JaNosha, Amaya, Tiana, Braylin, Carter and Majesty; one great aunt Jaunita Wright; sisters Arvellia (Phillip) Dublin, Regina Thomas and Sandra Norris; special nieces Quiosha Thomas, Antigone Parker, Alexandria Thomas, Kari Norris and Latoya Russell; a devoted companion Codell Brockman; caring sisters-in-law Barbara Tillman and Carlvenus Russell; mother-in-law Mary Rogers; god-children Phillip/P.J. (Aishonna) Dublin and Ciara Norris; and dear close friends Brenda Wilson and Penny Miller all of High Point, NC and a host of other relatives and friends near and far. Whether related or not, Renee had many sisters and brothers with whom she had close relationships with.
