Micheal Wright

High Point- Mr.Michael L. Wright was born to Elizabeth G. Ezekiel on August 17, 1957 in High Point, North Carolina. He received his education through the High Point Public School System and graduated from High Point Central High School in 1976 after a tremendous Football and Wrestling career and earning the name "Big Mike." After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. Continuing his love for football, he participated in a league until he was honorably discharged in 1978. After serving his country proudly, he returned home and went on to try out for two NFL teams, one being the Dallas Cowboys. He also played for a semi-pro team, the Greensboro Buccaneers. He was a long term member of New Bethel Baptist Church where he was baptized under the leadership of Rev. John Mason. He later began a career in Apartment and Home Maintenance in which he exceled as a Maintenance Supervisor for over twenty years. He was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday August 26, 2013. He was preceded in death by his step-father, Willie H. Greeson and Step-Sister, Kathy L. Sutton. Leaving behind to cherish his memory; his mother, Elizabeth G. Ezekiel; former wife, Sally M. Strickland; his sister, Kathy L. Greeson, and his long time companion, Emilia Livingston; three daughters, Tekisha A. Johnson, S. Nichole Wright and Whitney M. Wright; one step-daughter, Tania Strickland Fox; four grandchildren, Jaylen Z. Godwin, Jurnee G. Flowers, Chase M. Johnson, and Ahnoria M. Flowers Leaving behind to carry his legacy; three nephews, Antione L. Greeson, Brandon H. Greeson, and Derek W. Greeson; three great nephews, one great niece and a host of relatives and friends. A celebration of his life will be held 11am, Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2013 at New Bethel Baptist Church, 1116 Montlieu Ave. Family visitation will begin at 10:30am at the church. Burial will be in Salisbury National Cemetery. The family will also receive friends at 400 Royal Oak Dr., High Point.
