Maurice Medley

Maurice Medley was born to Rosa Lee McKinney Medley and the Late Johnny Mack Medley on November 11, 1956, in High Point North Carolina. He entered eternal rest on February 10, 2025, at Cone Health Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro, North Carolina.


Maurice received his early education in the Guilford County public School System and continued his

education at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, North Carolina. He worked in Food/Chef Management as well as the Clothing Distributing Management Industries. While supporting his wife’s active-duty military career, he had several opportunities to display his Culinary Arts expertise around the world, i.e., San Antonio and El Paso Texas, Dayton, Ohio, Kaiserslautern and Ramstein Germany, Colorado Springs, Colorado and Waldorf, Maryland until his retirement. Maurice was well known for his amazing cooking skills. He was also very well known for his daily, stylish dressing attire, as well as, his spirit and passion for riding motorcycles. Maurice also had a love and appreciation for music, and he never met a stranger.


He was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ. He was a member of Jericho City of Praise Family Ministries

in Landover, Maryland. One of his favorite churches was the Maranatha Tabernacle C.O.G.I.C. in Germany. His favorite Scripture was 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17.


Maurice had eight (8) siblings. The (7) siblings that survive him: sisters, Johnnie Mae Medley, Dehavia

Laverne Medley; brothers: Ronnie Lee Medley, Johnny Mack Medley Jr, Jefferey Lamar Medley, Derrick Keith Medley, and Patrick Dale Medley.


Maurice was preceded in death by his loving wife of 47 years, Vicky Renett Strawberry Medley; Brother:

Bobby Lewis Medley; Aunt’s: Edith McKinney Pendergrass, Johnnie Mae McKinney, Pollyette McKinney, Helen Marie Medley Mackey; Uncles: Kerry McKinney, Buford McKinney, Troy McKinney, Roger McKinney, Perry McKinney, John Franklin Watson, Gary Nathan Watson, Breston Eugene Watson, and Bobby Lewis Medley.
