On Saturday, March 21, 2015, Mary Frances Wright made an appointed transition from this earthly tabernacle to a place of rest. Mary, 72, was welcomed into this world on April 26, 1942, to the late Elliott and Luella Ratley in Clio, SC.
She received her education in Marlboro County public schools. "Boot," as she was known by many people was united in marriage for 42 years to the late Ralph "Pip" Wright. She worked diligently at Essex Wire where she later retired.
Mary was a faithful and loyal member of ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church where she served as the Vice President of the Usher Board and sang on the Senior Choir. She also participated in the Evening Starr 222. Mary enjoyed the great outdoors, raking her yard, she was a kind-hearted and loving person.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph "Pip" Wright, her parents, Elliott and Luella McRae Ratley, One daughter, Marilyn Wright and a brother, Archie Ratley
she leaves to cherish her fond memories her six children, Gloria (Fred) Timmons) of Sumter, SC, Leon (Silvia) Ratley, Mary (David) Dupree all of Bennettsville, SC, Mickey (Monica) Ratley of Bridgeport, CT, Pearlie Bethea and Ralph Wright both of Clio, SC, two children that she reared in the home, Vanessa Cudjoe and Jeffrey Ratley, 20 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 2 brothers, Elliott Ratley Jr of Brooklyn, NY and Arthur Ratley of Hempstead, NY, 3 sisters, Annie Malachi of Hope Mill, NC, Lillie Mae (Johnny) Evans and Mary Lou Ratley all of Brooklyn, NY2 aunts, Leana Mae Ingram of Brooklyn, NY and Deloris Ingram of Dillon, SC, brothers- and sisters-in-laws, Evangelist Gladys W. Thomas, John (Linda0 Wright, Marvin (Carrie) Wright, Clara (Fred) Thompson and Dennis Wright, a special friend who was like a sister, Mary Ann McRae and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
