Martha Brown McCoy, 78, transitioned to her heavenly home on Saturday, July 11, 2020, after a battle with cancer. Her love for her family and strong belief in God provided great support in her time of struggle. Martha was born to the late Clarence Eli Brown and Hozie Gibson Brown on November 11, 1941, in Randolph County, NC. She attended schools in Randolph, Davidson, and Guilford counties, graduating from William Penn High School in High Point, NC. Martha married William McCoy, Jr., on February 7, 1964. She was blessed with a loving family that was very devoted to her. Martha gladly shared her wisdom and compassion with all who met her. To know her was to love her. She found pleasure and comfort in her own home. She loved to sew, create crafts, and loved to bake. She was a member of St. Mary’s United Methodist Church, where she sang in the senior choir, served as a Sunday School teacher, church treasurer, church secretary, and an usher. In addition to her parents, Martha was preceded in death by two grandsons, Jeremy Garrison and Theatmus Rice; two sisters, Ella Mae and Norris; and four brothers, Henry, Francis, Tom, and Jerry. Martha is survived by: her loving and faithful husband, William McCoy, Jr.; daughter, Yvette Ratliff (Larnzo); two sons, William Eugene McCoy and Marcus Stephan McCoy (Zaire); seven beautiful grandchildren whom she dearly loved, Cumeshia, Meyakka (Jamoderick), Jonathan, Ebonee, Brianna, Olivia, and Isabella; six beautiful great-grandchildren, Nyzere, J., Zyhiya, Nevaeh, J.J., and Rhylee; one sister, Magolia Brown; four brothers, Joseph (Pam), Eugene, Tommy (Kathy), and Venson (Patty); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
