On Sunday, July 31st, 2022, God came and chose a special flower at the Shannon Grey Rehabilitation Center in Jamestown, NC. Margarite trusted God and her life was an exemplary testimony of the strength you can have by trusting in God. Her trust also gave her the fortitude to face and overcome anything until the very end.
Mrs. Margarite Lendon Dunlap, daughter of the late Shedney Prince and Lula Johnson Lendon was born July 13, 1933 in High Point, NC. Margarite a very elegant and charismatic woman in her own way, attended Mount Vernon Baptist Church at an early age. She was a very graceful person who enjoyed watching TV, going to yard sales, eating tomatoes and can be seen engulfed in her favorite pass time of word search books.
Margarite a life long resident of High Point, was educated in the High Point City School System attending Fairview Elementary and making lifelong friends at William Penn High School. Margarite was employed for over 26 years at Marsh Furniture Company as a sprayer until her health declined.
Margarite is preceded in death by her husband Marshall Dunlap Jr., her brothers, Joe, Paul, Ewell and Shedney Lendon; her sisters, Mary Belton, Lula Tate, Francis Davis and Anna Bethea.
She leaves to cherish her memory one daughter Beverly (Andrew) Walls of the home, two sons, Reginald (Vivian) Lendon of Archdale, NC and Darrell Lee Dunlap of Raleigh, NC; four grandchildren, Michael (Shene) Wilson and Christopher (Jay) Dunlap of High Point, NC, Reginald Lendon Jr of Laurinburg, NC, and Jason Theunissen of the Netherlands; 11 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
A Private Memorial Service Will Be Hosted at a Later Date.
