Maggie Stevenson Hubbard, aged 89, departed this earthly life on Friday, February 2, 2024, at the Camden Health and Rehabilitation Center in Greensboro, NC. She was born on August 7, 1934, to the late Albert Stevenson, Sr., and Mildred Williams Stevenson in Marlboro County, SC. From their union, thirteen children were born. Maggie attended public schools in Marlboro County, SC. She later married Johnny Hubbard, and they moved to Brooklyn, New York, for 40 years. They relocated to High Point, NC, in 1994. Maggie received Christ in her life and joined Emmanuel Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend Lawrence Curtis. She later joined Mt. Zion Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Thomas. Maggie had a strong love for her family, family gatherings, and had a giving heart. She always enjoyed sharing time with her late sister, Ruby Quick. She also loved plants. In addition to her husband, Maggie was also preceded in death by seven younger siblings, along with Albert Stevenson, James Arthur Stevenson, and Ruby Quick. Maggie leaves to cherish her loving memories: her daughter, Katie (John) Purvis of Laurinburg, NC; brother, Adison Stevenson of High Point, NC; three granddaughters, Melissa (Wayne) Williams, Janella Purvis, and Gloria Purvis, all of Greensboro, NC; six great-grandchildren, Maurice (Chelsea) Scott, Keonna Monroe, Kiera Williams, Joshua Willimas, Imani Williams, and DeVonte Stephenson; one great grandson, Jamaurie Simms; and a host of nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly, along with two special people whom she loved dearly, Dorothy Leath and Stephanie White
