Linda Waldo Manning, 67, of High Point, NC, known to her family and friends as “Whitey” joined the heavenly angels on Sunday, January 7, 2018. Linda was born November 22, 1950 in Astoria, NY to Ellis and Minnie Waldo.
She attended Queens Vocational High School. Her career field was in the medical industry as a home care aid.
Linda was a caring woman who loved children. She kept children at her home before and after school. She was known in the community as the candy lady.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ellis and Minnie Waldo; her beloved daughter, Linda Tasha Waldo; two sisters, Susan Bennett and Yvonne Waldo Brown.
Left to cherish her memories are: her husband, Jimmy “Jim Bob” Manning of SC; one son, Louis (Stephanie) Dessasau of Winston-Salem, NC; god-daughter, Asia Manning; loving grandchildren, Shamira, Saamiah and Luqman Dessasau; great grand Amira Dessasau; five sisters, Diana Waldo of Staten Island, NY, Carolyn West of Greensboro, NC, Marilyn (Mark) Smith of Queens, NY, Donna (Gilbert) Trammell of McDonough, GA and Robin Waldo of High Point, NC; two brothers, Ellis Waldo Jr. of Queens, NY and Jeffrey (Tonya) Waldo of Greensboro, NC; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and dear friends.
