Mr. Lester Pegues, age 75 departed this earthly life on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at Shannon Gray Rehabilitation Center. He was the son of the later Luther and Mary Frances Pegues.
Lester attended Chesterfield County public schools. He relocated to High Point and was a former employee with Englander Mattress and Elkhart Rubber until for 17 years. He was married to Mary McCoy Pegues. Lester was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother.
In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by two sons, Richard Pegues and Marion Monk; two grandsons, Antwon Oliver and Gregory Monk; three brothers, Willie, Bobby, J.D. Pegues; three sisters, Madgeline, Leola, and Etherine Pegues
Those left to cherish his memories are his wife of 53 years, Mary Frances Pegues; four daughters, Eva Monk Herndon, Linda Oliver, Martha Clinton and Bobbie Jean Pegues; one son, Jeff Pegues; eight grandchildren, Latanya Monk, Takeyia Robinson, Marcus Robinson, Jamal Pegues, Kendrick McBride, Ashanti Scarborough, Sylvia Pegues and Tahesha Monk; fifteen great grandchildren; two sisters, Margaret Clark of New York and Annie (James) Jackson of Bronx, NY; one brother, Luther (Patricia) Pegues of Cheraw, SC; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
