Kevin Townsend

With heavy hearts our beloved father, Kevin A. Townsend, left us on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at the age of 52.

“Pig” as he was affectionally called was born on April 1, 1972, in High Point, NC to the late Billy Joe Towsend and Betty Lindsay Townsend. 

He grew up with a strong work ethic and an unyielding devotion to his family. In high school is where he met his love Teresa White and together, they have two wonderful children. Kevin was a devoted father to Keyona and Dexter. Kevin’s love for his family was immeasurable and he was always there with a listening ear and encouraging word. He would help anyone in need without hesitation.

Kevin loved cooking and worked as a caterer for over 30 years. He also worked at a photography studio. He took pride in his work and always gave his best to every project.

In his free time Kevin enjoyed being with his grandson, Dexter Jr., spending time with friends. and watching Michigan football team.

In addition to his parents, Kevin was also preceded in death by two brothers, Willie Towsend and Charlie Townsend; one aunt, Cora Tillman and three uncles, Edward Lindsay, Freddie Lindsay and James Lindsay. 

Kevin will be greatly missed by his loving children, Keyona Townsend and Dexter Townsend; his grandson, Dexter Jr. who he adored; his brother, Alex Townsend; one nephew; great nephews, aunts, uncles, many cousins, and friends who loved him dearly. 

His legacy of love, strength, and kindness will live on in his family.
