John "Prep" Bivens, Sr.

John Preston "Prep Bivens, Sr., 65, finished his earthly journey and went to his eternal rest on Tuesday, April 29, 2008. He was born on June 24, 1942, to the late Thomas Jefferson and Ester Cash Bivens.

John was employed with Bell Springs for many years until change of ownership to what is now Leggett & Platt. Johnn retired in January 2008. He was formerly married to Sallie Green.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Charles Bivens and his granddaughter, Lequonia Bivens.

He leaves to cherish his memories; one daughter, Angela D. Bivens of High Point, NC, one son; John (Pastor Billie) Bivens of Winston-Salem, NC; two grandchildren; Tequonia and Jamai Bivens; ten brothers; Thomas (Angela) Bivens, Franklin (Julia) Bivens of High Point, NC; James W. (Morine) Bivens, Levander Bivens of New Haven, CT., Burney (Barbara) Bivens of Orange Park, FL, Larry (Janet) Bivens of Atlanta, GA, Nathaniel (Bernetta) Bivens of Charlotte, NC, Joseph (Rose) Bivens of Colorado, Archie (Birdie Mae) Bivens of Hamlet, NC and Van Bivens with the US Army; five sisters; Allene Huntley and Frankie Pike both of High Point, NC., Lorene Grant of New Haven, CT, Mae Conwell of Bennettsville, SC and Alberta Bivens of Hamlet, NC; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
