John Ingram Sr.

John Calvin Ingram, Sr. was born August 10, 1927 in Anson County, NC to the late Gaston and Carrie Ingram. On Thursday, April 16, 2020 John was called to rest. He was united in marriage to the late Mrs. Effie Louise Ingram on March 27, 1950 and to this union four children were born. John was a loving husband and a devoted father. John retired from Drexel Heritage Furniture Company in 2006 after 52 years of service. As a young man, he repaired tv’s as a hobby. In addition, he was a professional photography. With this skill, he enjoyed capturing photos of family members, things in nature and special events. Lastly, he was a member of Temple Memorial Baptist Church before he became ill. John was preceded in death by his parents; wife; one brother, James T. Ingram Jr.; four sisters, Lilly Mae Bradford, Addie R. Jones, Juanita Turner and Avon Ingram.He enjoyed his life and leaves to cherish his memories to: four children, John C. Ingram Jr., Wendell E. Ingram Sr., Angela Ingram and Keith J. Ingram; one sister, Ajuanita Edwards; five grandchildren, Cheri Ingram, Nicole Ingram, Wendell Ingram Jr., Penny Ingram, and Christopher Ingram; four great grandchildren, Mi’aysha Bryant, Urshawn Matthews, Stefan Ingram, Miles Ingram; one brother-in-law, Larry Edwards; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
