Mrs. Joann McFadden Thompson, age 68 of High Point N.C departed this earthly life on Thursday, September 9, 2021, at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital-High Point.
She was born on September 25,1952 to the late Ms. Minnie Joe McFadden and Artie Inman in Dillion SC and the late Elmore and Dean McFadden who reared her. Joann graduated from Lakeview High School in Dillon, SC. She later relocated to High Point, NC where she began employed with Clarendon/Haworth Furniture Company.
Joann was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a loyal church member for over 20 years at Gethsemane Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Roy Fitzgerald.
In death by her parents, Joann was preceded in death by two brothers, Billy Inman McFadden and Jimmy McFadden; a son-in-law, Kendrick Simmons
Joann leaves cherished memories to her husband Alvin Jesse Thompson of the home; her children, Mechelle McFadden, Felicia McFadden Simmons, Rayshawn (Maria) Thoms, Vincent Thompson, Jesse (Kenyatta) Thompson, Niya Thompson, Natasha (Corey Caldwell), Amiya Thompson and Jaheida Thompson; two sisters, Dorothy (Johnny) Campbell, Brenda (Larry) Carmichael; sisters-in-law, Sarah McFadden. Joann has eighteen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren; fourteen in-laws, Joann leaves loving memories to all her nieces and nephews, and cousins to whom she loved dearly. She was a loving and fabulous woman.
