Mrs. Jane Neal Cole entered eternal rest on Saturday, August 5, 2017 surrounded by her loving daughters. She was born in Greensboro on January 30, 1940, the daughter of the late Joe Frank Neal, Sr. and Meggie Elizabeth Neal. In addition to her parents, her husband, Albert Leroy Cole, and her brother, Joe Frank Neal, preceded Jane in death.
Jane attended Mt. Zion Elementary School and graduated from Dudley High School. She retired from Drexel Heritage in the manufacturing industry. Early in life, Jane became a member of Mt. Zion AME Church, Greensboro, NC. Later, she joined Turner’s Chapel AME Church where she remained a faithful and loyal member. She served in many areas of ministry to include a member of the Jackson Lindsay Missionary Society, the Voices of Turner’s Choir and the Single’s Ministry.
Jane and Leroy met at the Sunday School Convention where they both served as delegates, a loving relationship soon developed. Jane was united in holy matrimony to Albert Leroy Cole in 1959. To this union two daughters were born Terri Ethel Cole and Tammie Donette Cole Neal.
Jane was a beautiful woman who will always be remembered for her gentle spirit and strong determination. She was very supportive of her husband even those unexpected dinners that he invited over a 100 people to attend. She had the voice of an angel and would frequently be heard singing at home or with her husband. Some of her favorite songs include: There’s room at the Cross, We will miss you, but we will meet again.
Leaving to cherish her memories are two daughters: Terri Ethel Cole of the home and Tammie Donette Cole Neal (Donald), Fayetteville, NC, her two brothers Bernell Neal (Della), Dwaine Mark Neal, two sister-in-laws, Annette Neal of Greensboro, NC and Mae Jeffries Cole of High Point, NC, nine grandchildren: Nikishay Shavone Browder (Ronald), Donald Leroy Cole (Genna), Erica Dawn Johnson (Christopher), Donald Neal, Jr., Amenta Neal, Daniel Neal, Dyrandan Neal, Alonda Carter (Juan), and Derrell Neal and ten Great-grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
