James "Dap" Johnson

On Saturday, December 30, 2017, James Edward Johnson Sr. age 59, departed this earthly life at High Point Regional UNC Health System in High Point, NC.

James, known to many as “Dap” and “JJ,” was born July 28, 1958 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Willie Folks and Eula Mae Johnson Livingston.

He attended school in Cheraw, SC and relocated to High Point, NC.  He was employed with Future Foam Company until his health declined.

Dap was good husband, father and friend.  He never met a stranger.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Dewey Johnson; two sisters, Vanessa Johnson and Mary McCormick.

He leaves to cherish his memories to his wife and best friend of 30 years, Lauren Johnson; two children, James Jr. and Zardia Johnson; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; He will also be missed by special friends, Billy Leak, Phillip Stadler and Dwight Jackson.
