James "Billy Byrd" Duncan

Mr. James Duncan “Billy Byrd” age 67 was called home quietly on Sunday, April 21, 2019 during the evening hours while a patient at High Point Medical Center, WFBMC.  He was born on October 13, 1951 in Ansonville, NC to Edna Duncan Gordon and the late Ishamal Byrd James.

James was educated in the public schools in Thomasville, NC.   A long-time resident of the triad,  James was a former member of Daily Walk Ministry Church.  He enjoyed watching old western shows and sports on television; however, his passion was fishing.

James was preceded in death by one son, Timothy Duncan, one sister, Teresa Pullins and one brother, Darryl Byrd.

He leaves to cherish his memories to his devoted wife, Mrs. Sheila Leak Duncan of the home; mother, Edna Duncan Gordon of High Point, NC; one son, Xavier Duncan; four daughters, Ashley Duncan of Columbus, OH, Keisha Duncan of Winston Salem, NC, Jasmine Diggs of Greensboro, NC and Sonya Duncan of Anson County, NC; one step-daughter, Rinika (Ellis) Pittman of Hamlet, NC; three sisters, Anita (Walter) Crosby and Ladonna (Maurice) Cobb all of High Point, NC and Yolanda Anukwuem of Greensboro, NC; two brothers, Michael (Kimry) Byrd of Greensboro, NC and Jeffrey (Tammy) Byrd of Atlanta, GA; one sister-in-law, Vanessa (John) Quick of Hamlet, NC; four brothers-in-law; a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
