Mr. James Noah Smith, age 72 departed this earthly life on Monday, January 27, 2014 at Hospice Home at High Point. He was born in Maxton, NC to the late Douge and Geneva McIntyre Smith. James was the owner and operator of James Auto Repair in Maryland. He was a member of Greater New Hope Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, working on cars, attending church services and cooking at his family gatherings. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his daughter, Thomaszeen Smith Macon; five brothers, Leonard, Nezel, Billy, Andy and Douglas Smith; one sister, Evangelist Betty Smith Leak. He leaves to cherish his memories, his beloved wife of the home, Elizabeth Smith; four sons, Darrell McLean of High Point, Mark Herbert of Maryland, Cortez Herbert of Virginia and Steve McArthur of Dallas, TX; three daughters, Senthia Haythe of Maryland, Annie Threat of High Point and Tammie McAuthur of Maryland; stepmother, Eunice Ezekiel Smith of High Point; three brothers, Bobby (Carrie) Smith of High Point, Levon Smith and Edmond (Debbie) Smith both of Baltimore, MD; five sisters, Pearlie (Charlie) Hawkins, Jennie Johnson, Mary (Knox) Quick, Dorothy Smith and Katie (Eve) Hope of High Point; eighteen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren;
