James Thomas Jackson, age 64 was born July 31, 1956 in McColl, SC to the late James Jackson Jr. and Mae Julia Monk Jackson. James gained his crown on Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at his place of residence in High Point, NC.
James graduated from High Point Central High School, class of 1974 and was a star football player for the Central Bison. He later attended Livingston College.
James was married to Julia Lee Rorie, his high school sweetheart. To their union two children were born, Julius and Jacqueline Jackson. James was a faithful Member of Person Memorial AME Church. He served as a steward, exalter, and the Missionary Board. James was always known as a voice of wisdom and encouragement to many. He spent the latter part of his life with his only grandchild Caylee. Each summer they enjoyed fishing and swimming and spent time together with each other after school.
James was preceded in death by his parents, James Jackson Jr., and Mae Julia Monk Jackson; one sister, Emma Ruth; brothers-in-law, Walter Pearson and Frank Pearson; and one niece, Julia Jackson.
James leaves to cherish his loving memories and a life well lived to his wife of 44 years, Julia Jackson; two children, Julius Jackson and Jacqueline Jackson-Boyd (Calvin); one granddaughter, Caylee Boyd; one sister, Mary Pearson; two brothers, Michael and Randy Jackson; two sisters-in-law Levertis Trapp, and Noami Donell (Walter); three brothers-in-law, Leroy Rorie, Johnny(Hazel) Rorie and Alvie (Violet) Rorie; uncle, John Monk; aunt Francis, Lucy Faye Monk, and Dorothy Monk; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
