Gladys Robinson

Gladys Gibson Robinson, 96, of High Point, passed away Sunday, December 23, 2018 at Westchester Manor. She was born in Scotland County, NC to Howard and Marie Edwards Gibson. She received her education at Laurinburg Institute in Laurinburg, NC. While working at Camp McCall, she met and married Sgt. Edmond Robinson Jr., aka Stringbean, soon after started a family in 1944, while residing in Hamlet, NC.

After moving to High Point, NC in 1956, Gladys joined First Emmanuel Baptist Church. She was a member of the Jubilee Gospel Chorus, and a Pastor's Aid where she served faithfully until her health declined for a little over 60 years.

Gladys loved to work, do crossword puzzles, scrapbook and read the bible.

She worked at Kay Springs Manufacturing for 29 years. After leaving there she was employed at High Point Regional Hospital for 22 years as a custodian, retiring at the age of 86.

Preceding her in death was her parents, husband and brothers, Thomas (Bloomer) Gibson and Lawrence Thomas Gibson.

During their 45 years of marriage Gladys and Edmond was blessed with six children, Edmond (Creola) Robinson, Helen (Harvey) Little, Doris Robinson, Curtis(Patsy) Robinson ,
