On December 7, 2012, Ms. Gladys Brown, 76, of High Point, NC went to be with the Lord at Hospice Home at High Point. "May God rest her soul."
She was born august 10, 1936 in McColl, SC, the daughter of the late Mr. Samuel and Mrs. Carlee Brown.
Ms. Gladys received her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at a very young age at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in McColl, SC. She relocated to High Point, NC in 1972 where she became a member of First Emmanuel Baptist Church. She was a faithful member until her health declined. She was employed with High Point Regional and Trinity High School for many years. Ms. Gladys loved fishing, puzzles and always enjoyed cooking for others.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her stepmother; Adele P. Brown; one son, Robbie Brown; great granddaughter, Morgan Nima Lemon; one brother, Marine D. Brown; one sister, Arlene Brown; two stepsisters, Pearlie Mae McBride and Carbela Plato; one stepbrother, Joseph Plato.
She leaves behind to cherish her memories, two sons, carl Brown and Jimmy Brown both of High Point, NC: three daughters, Carlen B. (Willie Jr.) Davis of Thomasville, NC, Debra B. Graham and Sheila Brown both of Greensboro, NC; thirteen grandchildren, among them, Anthony l. Brown, who was always there to assist whenever needed; one special nephew, Darren Brown of New York; two stepbrothers, Daniel Plato and Warren Benjamin Plato; two stepsisters, Ruth Welch and Naomi Plato, two special friends, Mrs. Cora Green and Mrs. Sarah Ingram; a host of other relatives and friends.
