Mr. George McManus, age 78 of High Point, NC passed away on Friday, January 7, 2022, at Hospice Home at High Point. George was born to the late John David McManus and Mary Lee Bristow McManus on November 19, 1943, in Marlboro, SC.
To know George was to love him. He was known by many as “Mr. George,” the man that fix on cars. He started his journey as a mechanic at the early age of eight years old by watching and helping his father. He spent his days working as a mechanic but on Monday’s and Friday’s evenings he watched wrestling.
His life revolved around being the best dad, granddad, brother, son, and mechanic. He enjoyed spending time with his loved ones and making sure not to miss an event when invited, no matter the day or time. If you needed help, George came to the rescue.
In addition to his parents, George was also preceded in death by; three brothers, West McManus, Willie McManus and Curtis McManus and one sister, Louise Dorsett.
He leaves loving memories to five children: Linda (Anthony) Boyce,
Cynthia (Kim) Everett, Kevin McManus all of High Point, NC,
Tumika McManus of Winston-Salem, NC and Leechann (Sharon) McManus of Salisbury, NC; twelve grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; three brothers, James Robert (Pearline) McManus,
James Wilson (Jackie) McManus and William (Teresa) McManus all of High Point, NC; four sisters, Elouise Rogers of Bennettsville, SC
Lillie Mae (Michael) Warren of Greensboro, NC, Rosa Virginia Boatwright of New Jersey and Bessie Brower of Fayetteville, NC; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
