Gary Morgan Williams, age 71, was called home on January 12, 2025. He was born on July 23, 1953, in Newark, New Jersey to the late Ira
Williams and Mary Bell Sayers. Gary attended and graduated from Barringer High School located in Newark, New Jersey. He also attended Newark Technical Community College where he studied carpentry. He decided to relocate to High Point, North Carolina in 1978, with wife Diannie Lee Williams.
He was a chemical operator at Nova Chem and retired from Piedmont Chemicals, where he was a supervisor for 15 years. He had an avid interest in karate, boxing, and putting on neighborhood events for the community. His religious faith was the Nation of Islam, a brother at Temple No. 25, located on South Orange Avenue in Newark, New Jersey. He was a respected member of the Black Panther Society. He enjoyed watching football and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Gloria Williams and Diane (John) Miller; brothers, Frederick Haynes, Ronald Williams, Gilbert Williams, and Robert Williams; and sister-in-law, Louise Butler.
He is survived by his wife, Diannie Lee Williams; children, Christina (William) Jones, Gary Alterique Williams, Anita Yvette Williams, LaShonda Diane Williams, Tameka RaShone Williams, Rahmon Ali (Sharon) Williams, Fatimah Alnissa (Moustapha) Ali Saibou, Kareem Ali (Alexis) Williams, and Jemila Williams; sisters, Geneva Thompson, Louise Ballard, and Barbara (Joseph) Johnson; 18 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was a devoted husband, father, and brother who loved his family above all else. He led by example and was a strict disciplinarian.
Special acknowledgement to mother-in-law, Mary Gray, brother-in- law, Rashid Farad Ali, and sisters-in-law, Mary Brant and Inez Lee.
Gary will be dearly missed by all who knew him, but his legacy will live on through his family and friends.
