Fred Anthony McLaurin, affectionately called, “Amp” departed this life on Sunday, February 17, 2019 after a lengthy illness. He was born July 13, 1972 to Emma Green and Fred Artis McLaurin.
Amp was well known by others from his witty personality, his charm, jokes and laugh.
He graduated from Andrews High School, class of 1990. He furthered his education and graduated from ECPI as computer engineer in 2001. Anthony was a faithful member of Living Water Baptist Church until his health declined. He was loved by many and be missed by all.
Anthony was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Margaret Huntley; his paternal grandparents, Lollis and Eva Mae Benjamin; also, one uncle and one cousin.
He leaves loving memories to his parents, Emma and Sam Green of High Point, NC; father, Fred McLaurin; one daughter, Chelsea Blocker; one brother, Timothy Brown of High Point, NC; one sister, Gail Henry of High Point, NC; fiancée, Kristin Blocker; uncles and aunts; Minister Willie (Virginia) Brown of Sophia, NC, James (Ardis) Brown of Greensboro, NC, Willie Thomas Brown all of Greensboro, NC, Charles Huntley of High Point, NC, Willie McLaurin of Bennettsville, SC, Mae Frances Blassigame, god-aunt, Rev. Rose (John) Reid all of High Point, NC, Ann Reid, Carolyn McLaurin and Vivian McKinnon all of Bennettsville, SC; six step-siblings, Samuel (Sharon) Green III, Michael Green, Barbara (Rev. Mitchell) Little, Cheryl (Tim) Simmons, Kathy Graham and Tonya (Johnathan) Robinson; god-sister, Diane McArthur; best friend, Berry McCullough Jr.; a host of devoted nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
