Emma Bohannon Currie, age 76 of High Point, NC departed her earthly relationships with her family and friends on Friday, April 10, 2020, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center-High Point Health System.
Emma was the youngest of four children and was welcomed into this world from the union of J.T. and Sarah Gibson Bohannon on August 4, 1943 in Thomasville, NC. She was nurtured in the Baptist faith.
Emma graduated from Church Street School. She then furthered her education and graduated from NC A&T State University, class of 1971.
Emma was employed with Citi Financial Company.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Michael F. Raper; one grandson, Michael I. Raper; one sister, Delores Wilkins; two brothers, Donald T. Bohannon and Frank Bohannon.
She leaves to cherish her memories to: three sons, Ernest D. Raper of Greensboro, NC, Darryl (Michelle) Raper and Roland (Angie) Farabee all of High Point, NC; six grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; a special niece, Sheila Bohannon of Atlanta, GA; special sister-in-law, Patricia Broadie; two lifetime friends, Betty Smith and Patsy Battle; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
