Ella Pettis

Mrs. Ella LaVerne Pettis, was born November 10, 1955 to the late Albert Graves and Vera Graves Chisem. She departed this earthly life on Sunday, Dec. 7, 2014. She was lovingly called "LaVerne" or "Verne". She was a loyal member New Bethel Baptist Church where she sang with the Senior Choir Her hobbies included hanging with her cousin, Yvonne, watching the HSN channel and spending time with her family.  Laverne took great pleasure spending weekends with her grandchildren.
Leaving the cherish her memories are husband, Rev. William Pettis of High Point, three children, Juan (Cynthia) Gray of Trinity, Chris (Tira) Gray, Kim (Jose Perez) Gray both of High Point; mother, Vera (James) Chisem of Trinity; sister, Gloria (Wilbert) Camp; brother, Alvin Graves both of High Point; eight grandchildren; one great grand; uncle, William Strickland of Thomasville; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
