Mrs. Ella Bell Covington, age 84 of High Point, North Carolina departed this earthly life on Saturday, June 27, 2020 at her home. She was born on March 22, 1936, to the union of Artis and Mattie Mae Molden in Sylvester, Georgia. She received her former education in Marlboro County Public Schools in Bennettsville, South Carolina. Ella Bell Lawson Covington was united in holy matrimony to Willie Covington II. She was a faithful member of the Greater New Baptist Church, where she was one of the Living Legends of the church, an honorary senior usher, member of the prayer band, and served as the president of the Missionary Board. Mrs. Ella Bell was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and one daughter, Darlene Covington. She leaves to cherish her precious memories: five sons, Oliver Covington of Charlotte, NC, James Covington, Willie Covington III of High Point NC, Christopher (Felicia) Covington of Fayetteville, NC, and Clement Covington of High Point, NC; three daughters, Diane (Darryl) McNeil of Greensboro NC, Betty (Melvin) Jackson, and Cynthia Covington of High Point NC; one sister, Vera of New York; 33 grandchildren; 61 greatgrandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; special niece, Ola Mae Ellison; special friend, Annie Ponce; and a host of other family members and friends.
