Shirley Ann Venson was born September 17, 1956, in the Bronx, New York. She was the sixth child of ten children. She was born into the union to the late Arthur and Ruth Johnson. On November 22nd, 2023, an angel was dispatched to escort Shirley to her everlasting life. One of Shirley's favorite scriptures to quote 2nd Corinthians 5:8 "To be absent from the body and to present with the lord."
Shirley was educated in New York school system. She is a graduate of Walton High School where she received her diploma. At an early age, Shirley received Christ as her lord and savior. Shirley was baptized at the Greater Universal Baptist Church, under the leadership of Rev. Robert Wilbrite. Sometime after Shirley joined the Solid Rock Church, Bronx, New York, under the leadership of the later Bishop Samuel Anderson, where she often ministered. Shirley attended "The Bible Church" of Christ Theological Institute. Sometime later Shirley was married to the late Aaron Venson., later in life Shirley and Aaron relocated to Thomasville, North Carolina. Elder Shirley Venson was a member of the Victory Center, Apostle Timothy L. Warren of Thomasville, North Carolina.
Elder Shirley loved people, she worked in the healthcare. Later in life, Shirley furthered her education, and she received certificates from Citadel Ministries International and United Cornerstone University and received numerous certificates and rewards. Shirley had a great sense of humor, one of her favorite quotes was "It's BIG Shirley from the Bronx." She was very fashionable and loved the Lord.
Sometime after Aaron Venson's passing, Elder Shirley married Bishop Sunny Brown Oyeyemi. Shirley was predeceased by her late husband, Aaron Venson, her parents, Arthur and Ruth Johnson, her brothers, Arthur Johnson, Wallace Johnson and Charles +Johnson' two sisters; Ruthamay Hollins and Catherine Jones.
Elder Shirley Venson leaves to cherish her memories, her husband, Bishop Sunny Brown Oyeymi, two brothers, David Johnson of Bronx, NY, Chris Johnson of Thomasville, NC; three sisters; Geraline Johnson of Bronx, NY, Rose Manning (Willie) of Thomasville, NC and Eleanor "Carrie" Finch of Jacksonville, FL and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Rest in peace, we love you, but God loves you best.
