David Benjamin Mitchell

Mr. David Mitchell, age 63 of Thomasville, NC departed this earthly life on Thursday, October 3, 2024, at Atrium Health Center-High Point. 

He was born on April 7, 1961, in Summerton, SC to the late Samuel Mitchell Jr. and Jessie Mae Hampton Mitchell. 

David graduated from Scotts Branch High School in Summerton, SC.  He then furthered his education at South Carolina State University and later at Shaw University.  David was a member of First Missionary Church of Thomasville and served as a Trustee until his health declined. He former employment was Cunningham Brick, Bost Bakery, Exopack of Thomasville and recently Thomas Built Buses. David enjoyed watching movies, basketball and football. He also loved cooking. 

In addition to his parents, David was also preceded in death by one brother, Sammie Lee Mitchell; nephew, Ray Mitchell; aunt, Julia Green; father-in-law, James Ellison and sister-in-law, Geneva Mitchell. 

He leaves to cherish his memories to his loving wife, Alisha Mitchell of the home; three children, David Mitchell Jr., Shanece Mitchell, and Azariah Mitchell all of the home; six brothers, Willie (Mazzie) Mitchell, Charles Mitchell, Ray Mitchell, Kenneth Mitchell, Tyrone (Tammie) Mitchell and Allen (Gwendolyn) Mitchell; two sisters, Jacqueline (Harold) Oliver and Patricia (Jesse) Williams; two aunts, Viola Murry and Maxine Hampton both of Summerton, SC; a host nieces, nephews, cousins; mother-in-law, Christine Ellison; brothers-in-law, Chris (Tara) Green, James Green, Rodney (Amy) Wilder, Dennis Wilder and Shaquille James; other relatives and friends.
