Daniel Thoms, passed away on May 26, 2006, at Forsyth Memorial Hospital. He was known to many as "Bone." He was born On March 23, 1953, in Bennettsville, SC, to the late John Cook and Janet Thoms. In his earlier years, Mr. Thoms accepted Christ, and was baptized when he joined Calvary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Wallace V. Powell, Sr. He later joined Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church where he was a faithful member and served on the Usher Board. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Mrs. Barbara J. Thoms. His parents and one grandchild Jahmiah Rorie precede him in death.
Those who remain to cherish his loving memories include his wife of the home; two daughters; Mechelle McFadden and Felicia McFadden, both of High Point, NC; three sons; Rayshawn Thoms of High Point, NC, Gregory Jackson and Corey Jackson both of the home; four brothers; Lorenzia Thoms, Michael (Chaney) Thoms both of Bennettsville, SC, Joseph (Alma) Coachman of High Point, NC and Earl Thoms of Great Nick, NY; eight sisters; Delores (John) Stevenson, Ollie (Leonard) Gray, Bernice Thoms, Betty (John) Bridges, all of High Point, NC, Debbie (Lacina) Doumbia of Greensboro, NC, Joann Coleman of White Plains, NY, Mary Galloway of Richmond, VA and Arbadella (Robert) Davis of Bennettsville, SC; nine wonderful grandchildren whom he cherished; his father-in-law; Howard Malachi; three sisters-in-law; Cynthia Williams, Michelle Williams and Angela (Clayton) Love; four brothers-in-law; Sammy Jackson, Charles and Kenneth Williams; a goddaughter; Sandra Staples; a godson; Christopher Juan "CJ" Deming; a host of other relatives and friends.
