Charles J. Thompson departed this life on Tuesday, December 1, 2020. He was born on June 30, 1952, to Mrs. Cora Lee Thompson and the late Mr. Lawrence Charles Thompson. Charles was known as “Larry”. He accepted Jesus Christ at an early age.He was a member of his family gospel groups, The Seven Bright Stars and The Thompson Brothers, where he played the guitar and sang alto. He was the high priest at Toussaint L’ouverture Lodge #524. Charles worked many years at Royal Development Company and at Guilford County School, where he retired. Charles was preceded in death by his father, L.C. Thompson, and one nephew, Rasheen Thompson.Charles leaves to cherish his memories to: his wife of 28 years, Mrs. Margaret Thompson of the home; his sons, Larry Thompson, Mario Thompson, Travis Thompson, and Marcus “Bo” David; his daughters, Angela David and Nichelle Rogers; his mother, Mrs. Cora Lee Thompson; six brothers, Charles (Sylvia) Cook, John (Michelle) Thompson, Richard (Elaine) Thompson, Billy (Cynthia) Thompson, Stevie (Natasha) Thompson, and Gary (Veronica) Thompson; 12 grandchildren; mother-in-law, Vera Lloyd; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other in-laws, and friends.
