Catherine Pate

Ms. Catherine “Cat” Wright Pate, age 84 of High Point, NC departed this earthly life of Wednesday, September 27, 2023. She was born in Marlboro County, SC to the late Flora McCloud Wright and William Raymond Wright. Catherine relocated to High Point, NC at an early age. She worked at Slane Hosiery Mills until her retirement. Catherine was a faithful member of Living Water Baptist Church for 38 years. She was a diligent worker on the Usher board until her health declined. Catherine was a fantastic cook. She enjoyed preparing meals, gardening, reading, watching television, and spending time with her family and friends. In addition to her parents, Catherine was also preceded in death by one son, Jerry Pate; four siblings, Minnie Wright, Lavern “Lee” Wright, MaeBelle Witherspoon, and Virginia “Sista” Wright. She leaves happy and loving memories to her children: Rosa L. Pate, Pearlie Alston, Ramona Leach, Larry Wright, Maurice (Toni) Pate, Montrell Pate all of High Point, NC, Donald Ray (Catherine) Pate of Maryland and Angie Tucker of Chapel Hill, NC; four siblings, Rose Little, Mary “Aunt Bae,” (Walter Charles) Pratt, Willie (Nora) Wright Sr. all of High Point, NC and George “Pumpkin” Wright of Rochester, NY; 21 grandchildren, 28 great- grandchildren; 12 great-great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and church family and friends.
