Catherine McCollum

Catherine Livingston McCollum, 72, made her transition to be with our Heavenly Father on Thursday, August 8, 2024, in High Point, NC. She was born on August 20, 1951, to Vinnie and Floeva Livingston, a resident of High Point where she lived and worked most of her life, she was affectionately known as Aunt Cat, Mama or to some as Catherine.

She met and married Luther McCollum who preceded her in death, in addition to her husband she was also preceded in death by her daughter, Serena Livingston, a son, Jason McCollum Sr. and her parents.

Catherine was a lovely lady, who opened her home to those in need of a place to stay. She began working at an early age to help provide for her family, a tradition that she carried until she became disabled, even after becoming disabled and not being able to work outside the home, she still took care of her family. 

She leaves to cherish her memories, her son, Angelo Livingston (Delilah), stepson, Howard McCollum, two sisters, Annie Cooper and Delois Covington (Oliver), her brother, George Douglas (Mary), grandson, Michael Strickland all of High Point, NC., a granddaughter, Gracie McCollum and Jason McCollum Jr., of Thomasville, NC, there are a host of nephews, nieces and friends.
