Bouysie Gladney

January 16, 1953 — August 5, 2024

Trinity

On Monday, August 5, 2024, the Lord called his angel home, and he was finally at peace.

Today we celebrate the life of Bouysie Gladney, a loving husband, father, brother, and above all, servant of the Lord.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Allen Gladney and Mary Frances Hunter Gladney, as well as several brothers and sisters.

Bouysie was preceded in death by five brothers, Allen Gladney, Johnny Gladney, Frank Gladney, Preston Gladney, and John Hunter; eight sisters, Mamie Singleton, Florence Johnson, Lottie M. Hopkins, Maggie Bell Jeter, VictoriaParks, Nellie Gray, Alice Adams, Daisy Ruff Hutherson. Siblings left to cherish his memories: three sisters, Betty Sims, Elizabeth Lindsey, and Bertha Gladney and one brother, Elder Willie Gladney.

In his younger years, Bouysie was married to Thelma Gladney for over 15 years and together they shared four children: Lawrence, Felicia, Tanya, and Gina. Bouysie also had a younger daughter, Shannon. He later remarried Martha Ann Covington Gladney for 30 years until his final days. They shared three stepchildren, Shawn, Erica, and Angela. Bouysie had 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Bouysie was a gentle and kind spirit, he had a heart of gold, and he would help anyone. He was a man of many talents and owned several businesses such as a cleaning company, car, and towing business, all while maintaining a full-time job for over 30 years. Bouysie made sure his family and friends wanted for nothing. Bouysie stayed steadfast in the Lord and put God first in all that he did.  As a child, he played guitar every Sunday. He later served as a Deacon in his church. He had a love for nature, fishing, baseball, swimming, gardening, and watching Western TV shows.  Bouysie would want us all to go forth and rejoice in the Lord and know that he is finally with his Lord! Until we meet again, rest easy and we love you!
