Barbara Anderson

On July 2, 1956 the body and soul of Barbara Ann Simmons were welcomed into this world by her parents, Roy Clark and Betty Lou Balem Simmons. On Saturday, May 10,2014, her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ welcomed her soul and renewed body into his heavenly home.

A lifelong resident of thi area all her life, Barbara graduated from Lucy Ragsdale High School. She was united in marriage to Joseph Anderson. Barbara was a member of Temple Memorial Bapitist Church. She also kept a big smile on her face. A kind-hearted person, Barbara enjoyed socializing with her friends and was devoted to her family. She worked in the textile industry for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Betty Simmons and one sister, Gracie Simmons.

She leaves cherished memories to her beloved husband of 43 years, Joseph Anderson of the home; two children, Jody Byers and Jocelyn Anderson; five grandchildren, Jody Byers Jr, Andrikis Anderson, Jahizer Byers, Clarity Anderson and Aaliyah Byers; eight sisters, Debra ( Eric) Hayes, Sharon Simmons, Pamela Simmons (Jimmy) Crawford, Benita Simmons, Roylene Middleton, Beretta Middleton, Alicia Middleton and Renee; three brothers, Roy Lee Simmons, Efrem Middleton and Cornelius Davis; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
