Artis Nicholson

Mr. Artis B. Nicholson, age 72, of High Point, North Carolina, departed this earthly life on Monday, December 30, 2024. Artis was born June 22, 1952, in Raeford, North Carolina to the late Willie B. Nicholson and Donnetta Wall Nicholson. At an early age he joined Center Grove Missionary Baptist Church and was baptized. He later relocated to High Point, North Carolina and joined Living Water Baptist Church where he served on the Deacon Board, Men’s Ministry, and Usher’s Ministry. Artis would always help in church wherever he could. In addition to his parents, Artis was also preceded in death by five siblings: Donnie Nicholson, Mable Nicholson, Pearlie Whitworth, Nettie Reid, and a baby brother. He leaves to cherish loving memories: his devoted wife of 45 years, Shirley Bethea Nicholson of the home; two children, Lisa Nicholson and Artmus Nicholson; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; three siblings, Marcella Ervin of Raeford, NC, Connell Nicholson, and Willie Nicholson both of Red Springs, NC; one uncle and two aunts; brother-in-law, John (Ida) Bethea and Senter Lee Bethea; special friend, Steve Tillman; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, church family, and friends.
